This would be the only form of unity to be had amongst the tribes for years to come.Īfter twenty-four years, the Avali had fully developed spaceflight technology that was derived from the benefactors', using many of the types of gases on the moon of Avalon. In the end, the number of Avali tribes became barely a couple-thousand before they negotiated for peace on the terms of sharing any and all technology for the whole of the species. While this did sound mostly acceptable, the disagreements between the tribespeople of who gets what exceeded being vocal, and turned into violent wars between thousands of tribes that spanned eight long, bloody years. A wealth of technology could be gained, potentially enough to seize an upper hand should the benefactors return. Sprawled across the crash site was a bounty of technology to be researched and developed from however, many tribes across Avalon wanted their share of the potential yet untapped. It was quick and decisive but to them, it was necessary to prevent them from doing any more damage to Avalon or themselves as a species. To the Avali, they were not to be trusted and never should have been.Ī few nights after the crash, the inhabitants banded together with the few benefactor weapons they already possessed and slaughtered the rest of them, no prisoners taken. The concern for the natives on the platform and around its crash site, the unanswered questions, the condition of their freezing planet, and the sheer disrespect for the state of their species compacted into a very sharp distrust in the benefactors. One of the last lieutenants of the operations for FIKU-14 took command and wanted all native personnel removed from the vicinity of the crash site immediately. Approximately seventy of the hundreds of benefactor personnel survived through escape pods, but the rest - including the Avali - were unable to survive. This was heard before the entirety of the platform plummeted through the atmosphere and crashed into Avalon, killing not only several-hundred Avali in the impact site but also people in nearby areas affected severely by the immense shockwave. The last known mention of the situation was that the fuel was hardening and clogging the FTL drive and its storage/transference units. Some of the Avali were willingly on-board FIKU-14 as it was slowly packing itself up to return to where they came when suddenly a severe engine failure occurred almost simultaneously across all rooms with FTL drives. No one, not even the subordinates of the benefactors' own race knew what was happening. Some forms of water on it eventually turned to ice, which raised great concerns.įive years and two months after the arrival of the benefactors, the source of the Avali's newfound technology and understanding, the superior race was summoned back to their space due to "the rise of critical importance," as they told the native species. Avalon eventually showed signs of decay, with the cold world slowly becoming colder over time, and its natural cryovolcanic activity eventually reaching a halt. The natives had great concerns for the health of their moon homeworld, but the benefactors continuously reassured their caution, but no little avail. The two races saw peace for the next five years of extracting the gases from the moon of the gas giant, unnamed at the time by the Avali.

With the platform deployed in the moon's shallow gravity well, which made unpacking it very easy and simple, the benefactors began to teach the native sapients how to use their technology, though not to the point where they could use it against them very easily. It was a gigantic vessel that served as a mobile, orbital space station, and could move at seemingly impossible FTL speeds for its grand size. Simply calling themselves "the Avali's benefactors" and nothing more, the uplifting process paved the way for Extraction Station FIKU-14, a large-scale orbital platform that allowed the benefactors to deploy and retrieve any and all personnel, equipment, and resources with ease. An advanced civilization that dwarfed every form of technology the Avali possessed had arrived on their homeworld of Avalon and quickly uplifted the primitive inhabitants to collect its resources. In the early days of Avali history, they were previously an archaic hunter-gatherer civilization, forming tribes, not unlike their present-day social structures.
